How to get to Brno

By air

There are four suitable ways to get to Brno by plane.

  1. Brno airport.
    For example, RyanAir (www.ryanair.com) is operating direct and cheap flights between Brno and Stansted (London). Next cheap flights from/to Brno provides WizzAir.
  2. Vienna airport - international airport in Austria. Vienna airport is about 2 hours drive from Brno.
    Student Agency operate direct bus connection from Vienna (city, airport) to Brno. There are four connections each day. Transport by bus from Vienna airport to Brno takes about 2,5 hours. Price of transport: 150 - 300 CZK (€5 – 10).
    Alternatively, there is a fast transport link (S-Bahn) from the airport to the centre of Vienna calling at the railway station that serves Brno. Czech Railways operate quick IC, EC connections between Vienna-Brno-Prague.
  3. Prague airport - international airport in the Czech Republic is about 2 hours drive from Brno.
    There is a good motorway connection. Student Agency operates direct bus connection from Prague (city, airport) to Brno. There are more than ten connections in both directions each day. Transport by bus from Prague airport takes 3,5 hours. Price of transport: about 150 CZK (6 EUR).
  4. Bratislava airport - international airport in Slovakia.
    This is a smaller airport but some low-cost airlines use it. Student Agency operates bus connection from Bratislava to Brno. Transport by bus takes 2 hours. Price of transport: 140 – 170 CZK (€5 – 6).
    Alternatively, there is very good train (EC,IC) connection between Vienna-Brno.

By rail

Brno is one of the most important Central European rail junctions, as it is situated on the international Balkan-Budapest-Prague-Berlin-Scandinavia rail route. Euro City trains on the Vienna-Prague route have stopped at Brno since 1991, and the City of Brno is taking an active part in the VRT, a project for the creation of a European network of high-speed rail routes.
